Hamilton Alan Bird writes fiction shaped by tension and consequence, nonfiction concerned with the interior life, and children's books under the name Maux Jaux — and that same attention carries past the page into design, games, and tools built with the same care. He spent nine years incarcerated, an experience that changed how he listens and how he understands the difference between captivity and freedom. Everything made since, in any medium, carries that walk back with it. He lives in Southern Colorado, where quiet still has a way of telling the truth.
